a player staple, as usual....Mar 29, 2006
By Andi O Like the previous two season soundtracks, the third delivers another great combination of heart-thumping girl grunge and nostalgic floating ballads.
I originally purchased this double-disc pack to get Esthero's "I Drive Alone" [Shane/Cheri Jaffy pool scene] but was more impressed with some of the other tracks.
Deliciously surprising was the inclusion of "Whether You Fall" by Tracy Bonham, the first of two contributions made on her behalf. "Don't Look Back" by Telepopmusik is a fantastic lyrically-motivated ambient turn, and the D'Angelo tune is the one I throw on when I'm getting ready to head out on the town.
Other favorites: "The Naughty Song" by Cory Lee is upbeat and kinky -- same with the Catlow tune.
Bottom line, this album is always within reach of my CD player -- a great buy for 24 good tracks. Not all are great, (I was disappointed with the Tegan & Sara songs, and the Sleater-Kinney) but overall, a great mix of moody lyrics and pulsing beats.
Wish they would've put some Transientworld tunes on: specifically "Light Bright City."

Still the same...Feb 03, 2006
By Serizap The L word soundtracks are amazing, such great CDs filled with very good songs!... and this one's huge (2 CDs!)without a single disappointing song,it is a selection of the best female voices of the year 2005 and maybe 2006.The first CD is the sexy one with pop/rock and a little techno and the second the classy one with indi/jazz and a trip-hop tune by Esthero, one of the best band on that category.Anyway if you loved the two first soundtrack you will love and even more this one.Lesbian mixes are definatly the best even for guys!... loll

I went on a Netflix L-Word marathon and then wanted some of the music from the show. Sad to say, the music is not too interesting -- at least not as much as it was when it accompanied the show.
