Saw it live, bought it instantly. The glitchy synths are addicting. I leaned towards songs on the album most people seemed to like less, like Second Chance and You'll Improve Me. Itchy Fingers is cool with its split/doubled beat. The whole thing is good, I do lean towards the heavier parts, but there's likely something for everybody.

5Junior Boys - It's All TrueJun 27, 2011
By Andrew Vice
I'm convinced that there is not a band cooler and more calculated than Junior Boys. Channeling and synthesizing decades of electronic music and pop, they craft pitch-perfect dance pop songs and do it all while sounding like they could care less about dancing. With each record, the Boys have continued to hone their style and perfect their perfection, and on It's All True, they're firing on all cylinders and once again making immaculate pop music. Taking a darker turn than 2009's poppy Begone Dull Care, tracks like "Playtime" slink and coo while building up to a rich and full emotional climax. On other places, the rich synthesizer textures of the epic closer "Banana Ripple" show the band transitioning through moods and styles within a single nine minute track. The synthesizers on It's All True and round and full, and every track feels bursting at the seams with textures and ideas. Jeremy Greenspan's voice is as evocative and beautiful as always, and he's using it with the confidence of someone that has been recording for almost a decade. The hooks are excellent on every track, allowing the songs to really build and work their way into your brain. As a carefully constructed album, It's All True doesn't give up the goods all at once, but as you listen to it, it gets stronger and stronger until the full impact hits you and you find yourself unable to sit still.

5Unique, Fun, BrilliantMay 11, 2012

Others have said it better, so I'll be brief: this is one of my favorite albums. I've been listening to it for about a year and it just does not get old. Not a single song that I skip - it's a start-to-finish masterpiece. It truly saddens me that Junior Boys aren't bigger in the States. Buy it, brahs.

I've known about Junior Boys for a while, but more recently I started to get more interested in their music. This album did not disappoint. After several records, they've proved that they're still capable of putting out music that is as hip-shakin' as ever. My favorite tracks: "A Truly Happy Ending," "Second Chance," and "Itchy Fingers," but they're all worth a listen. Thanks, Junior Boys!

5Mood evokingMar 02, 2012
By Jason Harrington "Trucker Hater Magazine"
The weakness of this album is in a few repetitive lyrical moments, but considering how a lot of people love LCD Soundsystem, I'm sure the few weak lyrical moments will be forgivable.

The strength of this album is his voice seducing your ears, and the great keys and beats that back him perfectly. I went back and heard their old stuff after this, and it might not be quite so realized, but all their stuff is fantastic, really.
