Description:

The release of The Rapture's long-awaited third album In The Grace Of Your Love marks the dawn of a new chapter in the band s history and a welcome return to the DFA Records family, having re-signed with the label that released some of their most acclaimed early singles, and whose founders James Murphy & Tim Goldsworthy produced their debut album Echoes.

Produced by French by Phillippe Zdar (Phoenix, Beastie Boys, Chromeo) In the Grace of You Love exhibits bold & euphoric sound that is definitively & distinctly like The Rapture and no one else. Through the course of its eleven tracks, you can immerse yourself as waves of lyrical optimism & introspection crash between angular guitars & pulsing synthesizers, pounding drums & into sweet rhythmical lullabies. This is the sound of The Rapture re-engaged and revitalized with a voice as clear as they ever had. In The Grace Of Your Love was recorded at Motorbass, Paris and Gary's Electric in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

4Definitely a grower...Sep 08, 2011
By Nicholas B. Sandoval
Five years and a lot of drama have passed since the last record, "Pieces of the People We Love". First Luke quit, then Luke came back with new sense of purpose. Then Matt quit. Anyone hoping for another "Echoes" or "Pieces" might be disappointed at first. As "Pieces" only held hints of "Echoes", "In The Grace..." has reminders of the past, but really takes Luke Jenner's Rapture somewhere new.

This record is definitely a grower. The first time I heard it, there were a few stand-outs but i was disappointed. after a couple more listens i would get almost every song, at different moments, stuck in my head. I couldn't wait to get home to listen to it. It's a bit harder to review this record as no song is the same as the last. Every song sounds like it could be on a different album. There are very thoughtful lyrics and there are some incredible rhythms hidden here. Tracks like "Miss You" and "Come Back To Me" will remind you of a more "Pieces of the People We Love" Rapture. "Children" will make you think of early MGMT, and lead single, "How Deep Is Your Love?" will keep you coming back. There's a little bit of filler ("Roller Coaster") but all in all, this record will grow on you and stay in rotation for some time to come. Hopefully not another five years.

1Poor sound for a great albumMay 16, 2012
By Juan L. de Mora
This is one of my total favorites from 2011. I love every singe track. So I wanted to check out the vinyl version.

As I opened it I was delighted to see the white pressed vinyl. Two of them! (although there were noticeable flaws on the finishing of the disc edges). Beautiful white plastic. To that point, I was really excited.

But as soon as I started listening, I was shocked in horror: it sounds terrible. I don't know a thing about the process of printing a vinyl LP but in this case someone f****d it up big time. It sounded as if my whole sound system was burt and blown (of course it sounds fine with every other disc I have). The sound is all "mashed up", the higher frequencies tear through my ears.

I don't know if this is only a flaw of the discs I bought, kind of like a bad luck one of a kind thing, but if you intend to buy this album watch out, try to listen to it first to be sure. Otherwise, stick to the digital formats.
