5best in its genre...for sureMay 14, 2011
By Bobby
This stuff is awesome. Whether you're a guy or girl, whatever your sexual orientation, this is some amazing dance electro type stuff from New York. Found out about them through Chairlift's wonderful Caroline Polachek. Can't stop listening to this album. FORGET about other bands like LCD Soundsystem, Cut Copy, etc. They're just not quite there in my opinion. Lots of great tracks here, also check out Static On the Wire EP for that awesome song, "I Will Come Back". Can't wait for more from this duo.

5Holy Something! Album of the year material!Aug 08, 2011
By Vincent Sellers "LongLiveC64"
I came across Holy Ghost! a few weeks ago while tagging along with my wife in a Victoria's Secret store. I had the "Shazam" app on my phone, and just in time I tagged a very catchy tune that was playing in the background. Sure enough, it was "Hold My Breath" by Holy Ghost!. It reminded me a bit of catchy Depeche Mode style, which carries to some degree for the rest of the album. I can actually hear multiple dance / pop music influences from the 70s and 80s (my all time favorite group is Pet Shop Boys, which by the way, continue to crank out stellar music).

So I started by downloading one track, then another, and before I knew it, I had downloaded the entire album (very unusual for me to do this, by the way). I now listen to it in the car, outside, when exercising, and when I'm not the tunes still are in my head. This in my view is the best musical find of the year - what a fantastic album. Catchy and fun, with some serious notes ("Jam For Jerry", my favorite of the tracks), PLEASE give this album a fair try - you will not be disappointed.

A+! Keep it up Holy Ghost!

5Best Electro Pop album since Friendly Fires' debut!May 27, 2011
By David
This album is probably at the top of my list for album of the year. Truly spectacular album from front to back. The beats are infectious, the singing on-point, and the flow of the album is really well thought out. The first track totally hooks you in and is really one of the better first tracks of recent memory.

If "Hold On" doesn't get you hooked, I don't know what to say.

What an amazing album for this NYC based group to start with!

P.S. If you don't know Friendly Fires - Listen to "Skeleton Boy" - you'll be hooked - Buy their first CD! Their second just came out on Tuesday, but start with the first!

I came across this album a month ago and have been listening to it almost everyday since. The style is very reminiscent of some 80's tunes but awesome in it's own right. Great tracks and fun beats. Hope these cats follow up with some more albums.

3very catchy but really fluffyDec 15, 2011

If you are of a certain age (30+) you've already heard these synth washes and beats before. And you've heard them lots of times before. Having said that -- the tracks are fun. Better singing would have helped these tracks immensely. This is a band that could go much further with a different singer, since the base tracks are fine.
