"Gimme Sugar" is the reality show equivalent to "The L Word." Like "L Word",it's about a group of lesbians in Los Angeles. They're headed by Charlene,who's trying to keep her bar- and event- going. It's the Truck Stop. It's a lot like Coyote Ugly,except it's got a female audience. There's the androgynous Davonee,the impassioned Alex,and Charlene's no-nonsense bosses Linda and Michelle. There's PLENTY of drama,since Charlene's friends want to start a Saturday night club--and she's in charge of another,but can't tell them. Plenty of bickering,flirtation,love triangles. It's better than most reality shows in that you feel you get to know the people. It's not simply eating bugs in the rainforest and complaining about the heat (like Survivor - The Complete First Season) or a claustrophobic bunch of arguing people Big Brother 3 - The Complete Season)
"Gimme Sugar" is rather sweet. For all the drama,the young women are sympathetic. It's like cotton candy;lots of sweetness,little depth. It's a snack.
